Lieutenant Colonel ANASTASIA T. McKOY

Lt. Col. Anastasia T. McKoy is the Commander, 42nd Operational Medical Readiness Squadron, Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama. She is responsible for optimizing Airman performance and integrating a diverse spectrum of preventive health and aerospace medicine programs across Maxwell AFB-Gunter to include Air University, two wings, 44 mission partners, and 39,000 beneficiaries. Her command executes a $2M annual budget and $14 million dollar workload, encompassing 130 active-duty and civilian professionals operating in seven distinct flights: Aerospace and Operational Medicine, Bioenvironmental Engineering, Public Health, Optometry, Dental, Mental Health, and Physical Therapy.

Lt. Col. McKoy enlisted as personnel specialist and completed about 8 years active duty ending as Noncommissioned officer in charge, personnel management before transferring into the USAFR while pursuing a degree in nursing at North Carolina Central University where she graduated Cum Laude in May 2004 and selected for Who’s Who among college graduates for academic achievement. She was employed as a registered nurse in the cardiac intensive care unit at the Veterans Administration Hospital until commissioning in the Air Force in 2004.  She has deployed in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM and has served in a variety of positions in both inpatient and outpatient settings at three different integrated Army/Air Force facilities.  Prior to her current position, she was the Medical Services Flight Commander at the 49th Healthcare Operations Squadron, Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico.
