Montgomery Mayor Todd Strange held his weekly press briefing Mar. 23 in front of the Daedalus statue at the Maxwell Air Force Base Club. With co-host, Air University Commander Lt. Gen Steven Kwast, they talked about the base's upcoming air show and open house on Apr. 8-9, as well as events the city is hosting during an "All-American Weekend," including the Montgomery Biscuits season game opener on Apr. 6 and a Clint Black concert at the Alabama Shakespeare theater on Apr. 8. Mr. Nimrod Frazer, a community and business leader, speaks about the Daedalus statue behind him at Montgomery Mayor Todd Strange's weekly press briefing at the Maxwell Air Force Base Club Mar. 23. Frazer commissioned the statue to commemorate the centennial of the entry of the United States into World War I and honors the American military pilots who fought in that war.The formal dedication ceremony of the statue will be Apr. 6 in front of the base club.
