The 42d Dental Flight provides dental care by appointment for active duty, active guard and active reserve personnel to include designated geographically separated units within the local area. The dental clinic is located on the second floor of the Medical Group above the main Pharmacy.
Dental Care Available at Maxwell Dental Clinic The Maxwell Dental Clinic provides a staff of licensed general dentists who provide dental examinations, operative (dental fillings), prosthetics (dental crowns, bridges, dentures), some types of tooth replacement, endodontics (root canal treatment) and emergency services. The clinic also employs registered dental hygienists and dental technicians to provide cleanings and preventive dental services.
Members who are found to require other dental specialty care outside the scope of practice of our staff are referred to specialists as needed. Military members seeking dental care through a civilian dentist are responsible for payment of that care if he/she has not been referred by the Maxwell Dental Clinic.
Emergency Dental Care
Active duty emergencies during normal business hours for acute pain, infections and/or swelling will be best handled on an appointment basis by calling the Maxwell Dental Clinic at 953-7822 or by showing up in person between 0645 - 0700 or 1145 -1200.
For non-duty day, holiday or after-duty hour emergencies, personnel should call 953-3368 and the clinic answering service will respond.
TRICARE Dental Benefit for Retirees/Dependents
There is no routine dental care for dependents and retirees at the Maxwell AFB Dental Clinic. Active duty personnel are highly encouraged to utilize their TRICARE Dental Insurance Program benefit by enrolling their eligible family members at www.TRICAREdentalprogram.com or by calling 1-800-866-8499.
Retired personnel and their eligible family members can utilize their Delta Dental Insurance Program benefit by enrolling at www.trdp.org or by calling 1-888-838-8737.
Clinic Hours
0700 - 1600 Monday - Friday
The dental clinic is closed on all federal holidays and every third Thursday of each month (1200 - 1600) for readiness training. Additional closures due to exercises or command functions will be posted at the clinic.
