6/8/2012 - Senior Airman Adam Dkhili, , Headquarters Air University A4/6, Logistics and Communications computer programmer searches for a new set of summer weight Airman Battle Uniforms at clothing sales. Maxwell AFB is one of 17 Air Force bases to receive the new, lighter uniforms early, while others will receive the new uniform in 2013. The new material, the 50-50 nylon-cotton blend used in the Army combat uniform, weighs 6½ ounces per square yard, compared with 7½ ounces for the older ABU. Since the Air Force is not forcing Airmen to replace their uniforms, a special clothing allowance will not be provided. Costs are expected to be approximately $80.00 for the blouse and pants. For more information, call 953-7505. (Air Force photo by Senior Airman Christopher Stoltz)
