Registration open for AFITC|
3/23/2012 - MAXWELL AIR FORCE BASE, Ala. -- The Air Force premier information technology conference is slated for August, and online registration is under way.
The Air Force Information Technology Conference 2012 is scheduled Aug. 27 - 29 at the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel and Spa Convention Center in downtown Montgomery. The theme for this year's conference is "Changing Paradigms - Delivering IT Capability in a Commoditized, Governed Environment." It calls for a focus on the need for a different approach in acquiring IT products and solutions.
The AFITC will spotlight the need for delivering IT capabilities in a collaborative environment.
AFITC 2012 will showcase how cutting-edge IT hardware, software and services are being used and the vision for the future to help the Air Force accomplish its air, space and cyberspace mission. AFITC keeps Air Force and DOD IT users, developers and managers current on the latest technologies through targeted training seminars and product demonstrations.
This conference will bring together a diverse mixture of government and industry leaders, along with key figures across various fields within the IT arena.
AFITC features a career day, bringing people and prospective employers together for employment opportunities in the IT and business career field. In addition, there will be a small business match-making session to provide opportunities for small IT businesses, large companies and government agencies to identify opportunities.
Hosted by the Air Force Program Executive Office, Business and Enterprise Systems Directorate, in conjunction with the city of Montgomery, AFITC 2012 is expected to attract about 200 vendors and more than 5,000 attendees from around the world.
Registration is open to Department of Defense personnel, military retirees, government contractors, local and state employees. College students majoring in IT or business are also encouraged to register.
