Air Force Assistance Fund

Captains get glimpse of Air Force PME
An Army captain is boosted by Capt. Will Lassiter as Capt. Brian Doyle-Wenger, left, and captains Scott Dawe and Samuel Ketchum steady on the right on Feb. 16. The captains worked together to tackle Project X, an obstacle course that tests teamwork and problem-solving skills.
Squadron Officer School hosted 33 Army captains attending the Maneuver Captains Career Course at Fort Benning, Ga. as well as two instructors, for a day. The Soldiers gained insight into the Air Force, including the professional military education offered on Maxwell, the breadth of the career fields and a better sense of how the Air Force works in general.
The captains joined the Gryphons, a SOS squadron, in the classroom, addressing leadership models and concepts, joint experiences with Army and Air Force counterparts, communication barriers between services, career aspects and cultural differences between the services.
