JLASS 2009 trains students in strategic thinking
During this year’s Joint Land, Aerospace and Sea Simulation game, Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard members posed as media for JLASS students. The purpose of the media presence is to prepare students in dealing with media members during real-world situations. Coast Guard’s top officer highlights service ties with Air Force
Adm. Thad Allen, commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard, addresses Air War
College students April 9 about Homeland Security. The admiral's speech,
which also touched on some of the ways the Coast Guard and Air Force work
together, was part of the Distinguished Lecture Series that Air War College
provides its students in order to educate them on leadership. Under the
program, leaders from across a wide range of disciplines, including

An audience at the Maxwell gym March 31 witnessed a first for the Air Force Honor Guard Drill Team as they performed high precision drills to a rock sound provided by Max Impact, an ensemble from the Air Force Band at Bolling Air Force Base, D.C. SNCOA honors Tuskegee Airman
While speaking at Gunter's Senior Non-Commissioned Officer Academy on April 1, Lt. Col. (ret.) Herbert Carter was surprised with the academy's honorary diploma by Lt. Gen. Allen G. Peck (left), commander of Air University. Colonel Carter was invited to the academy to tell of his experiences as a member of the famed Tuskegee Airmen of World War II. According to the academy's Chief Master Sgt. Michael Foster, Colonel Carter has spoken to 68 SNCOA classes and more than 20,000 students since 1997. Also shown is Chief Master Sgt.
