Adm. Thad Allen, commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard, addresses Air War
College students April 9 about Homeland Security. The admiral's speech,
which also touched on some of the ways the Coast Guard and Air Force work
together, was part of the Distinguished Lecture Series that Air War College
provides its students in order to educate them on leadership. Under the

SNCOA honors Tuskegee Airman
While speaking at Gunter's Senior Non-Commissioned Officer Academy on April 1, Lt. Col. (ret.) Herbert Carter was surprised with the academy's honorary diploma by Lt. Gen. Allen G. Peck (left), commander of Air University. Colonel Carter was invited to the academy to tell of his experiences as a member of the famed Tuskegee Airmen of World War II. Benjamin Henley, a goal of $72,031 has been set for Maxwell-Gunter in the campaign ending April 5. The fund benefits organizations that help Air Force people with aid in an emergency, with educational needs, or to have a secure retirement home for Air Force widows or widowers.
