Vigilant Warrior
As part of the new curriculum at Air and Space Basic Course, young Air Force lieutenants learn the skills necessary to operate in an expeditionary environment. The training is conducted at Maxwell's Blue Thunder training facility near Lake Jordan. During an Aug. 31 trip to Vigilant Warrior, ASBC students trained on ropes, walls and other obstacles in the confidence course, and were also given some exposure to spotting and handling improvised emplosive devices. Capt. James Ware of the ASBC Retool Office said the program is designed to give new lieutenants, "the mindset of warrior ethos," and he feels the expeditionary training during their ASBC experience does that.
