Lt. Col. Melanie Friedman, Curtis E. Lemay Center for Doctrine Development and Education deputy director of intelligence, is a utility player for the Capitol City Rollin’ Rebels roller derby team. She is the oldest player on the team and often leads endurance practices. Friedman who is stationed at Maxwell Air Force Base’s Air University in Montgomery, Ala., also practices on her own time on base.
