MAXWELL AIR FORCE BASE, Ala. --   Registration ends at noon May 16 for the Maxwell Centennial 5K run/1M walk on Gunter Annex, June 9. The event is open to the public, so pre-registration is required at https://mmstiming.com/race/centennial-5k/ . Participants will also have the opportunity to tour the Air Force Enlisted Heritage Museum before or after the race. The event is one of several being held on Maxwell Air Force Base and in the community to celebrate Maxwell's Centennial. Another upcoming celebratory event is the Maxwell Centennial Bash block party at Riverfront Park in downtown Montgomery, Alabama. The free event is open to the public on June 2, 2-5 p.m. The Bash will feature live music, arts and crafts vendors, food and drink vendors, children's activities and more. (Courtesy graphic)
