Major KEVIN R. SLAUGHTER, JR.

Maj. Kevin Slaughter Jr. is the Commander, 42nd Force Support Squadron, Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama. He serves as Director of Manpower, Personnel, and Services as the principal staff advisor to the wing commander on all A1 equities to accomplish operational objectives within the commander’s span of control for in-garrison and theater engagement activities in support to approximately 42,000 active duty, reserve, civilian and contractor personnel, students and families at Maxwell Air Force Base and Gunter Annex in direct support of Air University, 908th Airlift Wing, Air Force Material Command units, Defense Information Systems Agency and more than 40 other mission partners.

Maj. Slaughter entered the Air Force in May 2010 as a graduate of Baylor University and received his commission through the U.S. Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps. He has served in a variety of leadership positions at the base and Headquarters Air Force level. His duties include branch and section chief, flight commander, director of operations, action officer, and executive officer, with two contingency deployments in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, Freedom Sentinel, and Octave Shield.

Most notably was his time at Amazon as an Education with Industry fellow, where he garnered expertise in human capital management, human resource management, talent learning and development, recruiting and retention. Prior to his current position, Maj. Slaughter was the executive officer, deputy chief of staff, Manpower, Personnel and Services, U.S. Headquarters Air Force, Pentagon, Arlington, Virginia.
