MAXWELL AIR FORCE BASE, Ala. -- The eight-week Combined Federal Campaign ended at Maxwell-Gunter Nov. 7, reaching 109 percent of the base-wide goal of $553,935.

Total donations were $602,940 with Air University, the 42nd Air Base Wing and mission partners reaching 120, 122 and 106 percent of their goals respectively.

Maj. Janet Brumley of the 42nd Medical Group, who spearheaded the campaign for Maxwell and Gunter, was delighted with the generosity of base members and employees.

"I'm so pleased with the results. It really turned out fantastic," she said. "I've never been involved with CFC before, and to see the plan come to fruition was great. People really stepped forward and that was very humbling."

Major Brumley said that even in times of economic uncertainty Air Force members and employees did what they needed to do to make the campaign a success. She said all key workers and project officers did a superb job, and donors were very generous.

"There are some great and wonderful people out there," she said. "It was those who helped with this campaign and those who contributed who made it happen. I can't say enough about all the effort that was put forth."

Major Brumley said the Air Force is a good community that always supports charitable organizations and gives in ways that count. She reminds base personnel they can still give to CFC until Dec. 15.

She said key workers and project officers will be treated to a celebration in December to thank them for all their work.

"This will be the CFC Victory and Awards Celebration at the Officers Club on Dec. 10," Major Brumley said. "All those who worked so hard in the campaign to make it such a success are invited to attend."

The Combined Federal Campaign is the world's largest and most successful annual workplace charity, with more than 300 CFC campaigns throughout the country and internationally that raise millions of dollars each year.

Pledges made by federal civilian, postal and military donors during the campaign season support eligible non-profit organizations that provide health and human service benefits throughout the world.
