Requesting a tour
Groups requesting a tour must complete the TOUR REQUEST FORM. Requests should be submitted 30 days prior to the requested tour date and will be accommodated on a space available basis. Requests must be submitted through the 42nd Air Base Wing Public Affairs office and are accepted up to six months in advance. Tours will be coordinated one month in advance and will be finalized two weeks prior to the date of tour.
Tours will begin no earlier than 8:30 a.m. and end no later than 3:30 p.m. depending upon the tour schedule. Tours of Maxwell AFB and Gunter Annex may include any of the various organizations on base to include static displays and demonstrations. While every effort will be made to honor requests, we must work around our daily operations schedule and no particular activities can be guaranteed. A tour may be cancelled at any time, without notice due to increased security measures or unique mission requirements.
Organizations must provide their own transportation. All buses/vans must arrive at the Main Gate for security processing. Buses will be met a the Main Gate by a Maxwell AFB Tour Ambassador who will accompany the group on the bus and will remain with them for the duration of the tour. If a group is running late due to unforeseen circumstances it is the group's responsibility to contact the designated tour ambassador to see if adjustments can be made to the tour itinerary. If a group does not contact the Tour Ambassador and is more than 15 minutes late for their tour, the tour may be cancelled. If a tour is cancelled, it may be rescheduled for a later available date.
Cameras are allowed on the tour; however, there are some restrictions. Your tour guide will inform your of any restrictions.
