Base Tour Program

Base tour photo

Base tours are normally offered on Thursdays and are free of charge. Tour requests should be submitted 30 days prior to the requested tour date and all tours will be accommodated on a space available basis. While every effort will be made to honor requests, we must work around our daily operations schedule and no particular activities can be guaranteed. A tour may be cancelled at any time, without notice due to increased security measures or unique mission requirements.

Maxwell Historical Scout Trail

Maxwell Historical Scout Trail

The trail was established in 1976 by the Boy Scouts of Troop 23 and is located on Maxwell AFB in Montgomery, Alabama. There are two versions of the trail. The regular version of the trail is 5.2 miles long and the extended version is 12.2 miles long. Both trails include many historic sites such as the location of the Wright Brothers School and highlight the rich history of the area and of the Air Force.
