Why is mosquito control necessary?

Some mosquitoes transmit diseases, while others are nuisances. Controlling the mosquito population helps protect the community from these potential health risks and nuisances.

What methods will be used?

The mosquito control program will use spraying methods in moderate- to high-risk areas around the installations to control mosquito larvae in standing water and adult mosquitoes.

Where will spraying be conducted?

Currently, spraying will primarily take place in moderate- to high-risk mosquito areas around the installations and on the perimeter of base housing. See attached maps for designated spraying routes.

Additionally, Military Family Housing is tentatively planning to expand the mosquito control program to the interior of privatized housing areas. More information will be provided to housing residents when available.

What precautions should I take?

While the products used are considered safe when applied according to label instructions, personnel are recommended to take the following precautions:

· Vacate areas during spraying periods.

· Be aware of spraying trucks in areas being treated.

· Follow any additional instructions provided by the mosquito control team.

What are the potential benefits of mosquito control?

An effective mosquito control program can reduce the mosquito population, protecting the community and allowing residents to enjoy outdoor activities.
