ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla.-- Forty-three Airmen from the 97th Air Mobility Wing received Community College of the Air Force degrees and 25 were presented their degrees during a graduation ceremony, April 29, 2022 at Altus Air Force Base, Oklahoma.

“Earning your degree isn’t just about the diploma or the statement on your resume,” said Senior Master Sgt. William Stapp, 97th Logistics Readiness Squadron fuels superintendent. “It’s about the power of education and being on the path to discover the best version of yourself.”

According to the official CCAF website, their mission is to “Elevate the Enlisted profession by advancing technical and leadership capability across the career through degrees, credentials, and related programs to support recruiting, retention, career transition efforts and mission capability and readiness.”

Stapp said that Airmen are the Air Force’s strategic advantage, and they must be able to adapt, innovate and apply lessons learned to enable a culture of continuous improvement.

“I am a firm believer that education allows Airmen to grow in their careers,” said Senior Airman Angel Colbert, 97th Mission Support Group plans and operations lead. “Seeking higher education benefits both Airmen and the Air Force simultaneously.”

Colbert said that the more that Airmen know, the more knowledge they can share with both their subordinates and leadership, thereby allowing innovative thoughts and conversations to occur in hopes to improve every day.
