Maxwell honors victims of the Holocaust

MAXWELL AIR FORCE BASE, Ala. --  Maxwell's Days of Remembrance program committee will present a memorial service for the victims of the Holocaust at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Shelburne Auditorium, Air University Academic Facility, building 803.

Rabbi Jonathan Miller from Temple Emanu-El in Birmingham will be the guest speaker for the service. Montgomery Rabbis Elliot Stevens and Scott Kramer, and Chap. (Lt. Col.) Gary Ziccardi, the 42nd Air Base Wing chaplain, will light memorial candles for the Holocaust victims.

The theme this year is "Never Again: Reading the Warning Signs." A Holocaust exhibit will be on display throughout the community:
  • 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday at the clinic, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday at the AU Academic Facility, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
     
  • Wednesday at the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at Gunter, 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
     
  • Thursday at the 42nd Air Base Wing Headquarters, and 1-8 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. April 12 at the Maxwell Community Library.
The final event for the Days of Remembrance commemoration is a presentation by Dr. Robert Kane, Air University History Office, titled "The Holocaust - Prejudice to Extermination," at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Maxwell Community Library.
