MAXWELL AIR FORCE BASE, Ala. --
Demolition of 70 base housing units at Gunter will make way for the new, and long-awaited, Gunter Fitness Center, said Lori Booth, 42nd Air Base Wing housing asset manager.
"The houses being demolished at Gunter are in excess of the 501-unit housing requirement as defined by the Maxwell Housing Requirement Market Analysis," she said. Ms. Booth said once the demolition is complete, probably in June, the land will be returned to the government by Pinnacle-Hunt for construction of the new gymnasium at a future date.
