The Air Force Institute of Technology’s School of Systems and Logistics (AFIT LS) is offering its ‘Avoiding Quicksand:  How to Improve Acquisition Outcomes (WKSP0730),’ for acquisition professionals interested in learning new techniques for overcoming frustrating bureaucratic processes.

Air University is the U.S. Air Force’s center for professional military education.  AFIT, a component of Air University, provides nearly 200 initial skills and PCE courses in the areas of acquisition management, contracting, cybersecurity, data analytics, digital acquisition, financial management, logistics, process improvement, and systems engineering for all Air and Space Force grades/ranks, AFSC/SFSCs, and series through AFIT LS.

The two-day course, that has received rave reviews from previous students, uses the Harvard Case Study method for applying critical thinking skills when analyzing real-world scenarios.  Students will learn how to evaluate program plans, identify programmatic traps, and create improved acquisition outcomes despite the bureaucratic hurdles they may face.

Student reviews have rated WKSP0730 as a “4.9/5.0 stars,” and recommended the “outstanding” course “be required for all acquisition personnel.”

To qualify for registration, students must have the following courses completed: FAM 104, ACQ 1010 or equivalent.  Upon completion of WKSP0730, students will receive 16 continuous learning (CL) points.  Current class offerings are June through September 2026.  To register, please visit:  https://www.afit.edu/LS/course.cfm?c=387
