Base exercise simulates active shooter threat
Holding a simulated weapon, Staff Sgt. Brent Olson and military working dog Akim of the K-9 unit from 42nd Security Forces sweep building 1487 in search of a simulated active shooter Tuesday. The exercise assessed the ability of base personnel and emergency response teams to react to reports of a gunman on the installation. Maxwell and Gunter hold periodic exercises to ensure base personnel are prepared to respond to an assortment of challenges, including natural disasters, accidents and other emergencies.
