Anniversary: Wright Brothers stirred imaginations
Part of the dining out's program featured models wearing historic Air Force uniforms spanning at least five decades. Pictured from left to right are: Tech. Sgt. Destiny Clawson in a L-1 Light Flying Suit circa 1940; Scott Knuteson in a shade 84 service dress uniform circa 1940, the first distinctive uniform for the U.S. Air Force; Capt. Brian O'Neal wears a less-formal alternative, a highly popular blue waist jacket known as the "Ike" jacket phased out in 1964; Capt. Joshua Christopher in a dark blue outer garment generally worn in colder locations; and Chris Amadis in a summer service dress uniform nicknamed "silver tans" due to the sheen of the material.
