AAF Basic Flying School, Gunter Field
During World War II, U.S. Army Air Force pilots trained at Gunter Field, flying BT-13 Valiant trainers until mid-1943 and AT-6 Texans afterward. Gunter Field served as a flying school for American, British, French and Chinese pilots.
