The Daedalus statue overlooks the Maxwell Club courtyard, Thursday, April 6, 2017, Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala. The statue is of the Daedalus of Greek mythology who was the first man given wings by the gods, its first tie to aviation, it is also the name chosen for the fraternal order of WWI military pilots established here, the Order of the Daedalians.
