On 23 Nov 1930, polo, last played in Montgomery during World War I, began at Maxwell Field when the Montgomery "Blues" played the Maxwell Field "Reds." The two teams played the match under the joint auspices of the Montgomery-Maxwell Field Polo Club and the Montgomery Little Theater.
