Customs are our Courtesies
Customs and courtesies are the universal language for the Joint Force that reinforces the chain of command and communicates respect across all services and ranks. Saluting a properly marked officer’s staff vehicle when seen driving is the same sign of respect that is offered if they are walking or when a room is called to attention when they enter.
