Korean War heroism etched in stone at Enlisted Heritage Hall
A new monument dedicated to Tech. Sgt. James H. Ledford stands at the Walk of Heroes, June 24, 2026. Ledford, a flight engineer on a B-26 Invader, earned the Distinguished Service Cross for saving his crew and aircraft on Dec. 8, 1952, after an antiaircraft shell severely wounded the pilot over North Korea.
