Air Force Senior Enlisted Summit to convene

The Air Force's top enlisted leader convenes the 2009 Senior Enlisted Summit at Gunter Annex, Ala. May 2-9. 

Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force Rodney J. McKinley is gathering more than 350 Air Force senior enlisted leaders to focus on current force issues and receive updates on topics critical to leading and developing Airmen and taking care of their families. 

Many of the speakers are senior Air Force Leaders, who will discuss issues affecting today's Airmen as well as seek field perspectives from the attendees. 

Topics on the agenda range from required forces versus programmed forces, Air Force transformation and the new Air and Space expeditionary Force Construct. 

Air Force Chief of Staff, Gen. Norton A. Schwartz is scheduled to address the summit. Attendees also will have the opportunity to participate in a panel discussion with former chief master sergeants of the Air Force 

Command chief master sergeants, career field managers, professional military education commandants and other key senior enlisted leaders from Air Force active duty, Reserve and the Air National Guard are attending the summit.

"Bringing these groups together improves communication and interaction between our senior enlisted leaders and allows us to focus more of our efforts on Air Force priorities and areas affecting Airmen and their families," Chief McKinley said.
