  • Maxwell Boulevard gate: From I-65 North, take Exit 172, Herron Street, then follow the signs to Maxwell. From I-65 South, take Exit 172, Clay Street exit, then follow signs to Maxwell. From I-85 South, take I-65 North, then take Exit 172, Herron Street, then follow the signs to Maxwell.
  • Day Street gate: From I-65 South, take Exit 171, Day Street, then follow Day Street to Maxwell. From I-85 South, follow Day Street signage through the I-65/I-85 interchange.

The Maxwell AFB Beyond the Horizon Air & Space Show is free to the public.
Yes food and drink vendors will be on-site.
You may bring empty bottles to fill with water and snacks in non-glass containers. There will be water bottle refill stations available for free. Backpacks, large bags, and coolers are not permitted, so please be mindful when packing. There will be plenty of food and drinks to choose from on site!
Please note: Alcohol and illegal drugs are prohibited and possession and use of marijuana or CBD oil is illegal on all federal installations
Yes, but it will be inspected at the security check point.

Absolutely! There will be a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Showcase packed with interactive booths and entertaining happenings.
For safety reasons, smoking, vaping, and tobacco usage is not allowed inside security checkpoints and on the Flight Line. Maxwell AFB has designated smoking areas outside the security checkpoints and away from all aircraft and power equipment
The only animals allowed are service dogs as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act.

For both days, the gates open at 8 a.m. The opening ceremony begins at 10 a.m. with welcome comments from military and civic leaders, the Army Golden Knights parachute team patriotic tribute jump, and a F-35/P-51 fly-over. The flying performances start immediately after the opening ceremony.
