  • Maxwell Centennial Bash June 2nd

    The city of Montgomery and Montgomery County Commission celebrate 100 years of partnership with Maxwell Air Force Base with a Maxwell Centennial Bash block party at Riverfront Park, June 2, 2-5 p.m. This is a free event and open to the public. The Bash will feature live music by Colonial Revival, food and arts and crafts vendors, plenty of children's activities, Maxwell Honor Guard performance, car show, water rescue demonstration by Montgomery fire department and much more. The first attempt at the Bash in April was rained out, but city and base leaders felt this milestone was too significant not to commemorate.

  • Air Force soars during 2018 National High School Drill Team Championships

    The nation’s top Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps cadets traveled to Daytona Beach, Florida, May 4-6, for the 2018 National High School Drill Team Championships. The high school students showcased their skills in both armed and unarmed categories in front of judges and military training instructors from all branches of the military during the three day event.

  • Alpha Warrior Rig arrives at Maxwell providing base with a new way to workout

    The 42nd Force Support Squadron hosted an event to unveil Maxwell’s new Alpha Warrior Battle Rig, April 24, 2018, in the Maxwell Wellness and Fitness Center annex here. Members of the base community were invited to watch a demonstration of the obstacle course from three Alpha Warrior professional athletes and were then given the opportunity to give it a shot themselves.
  • ACSC’s MDOS: An inside look into one of the DOD’s most innovative courses

    Air University’s Air Command and Staff College was recently announced as one of five winners of the 2017 Innovation Challenge during the Air Education and Training Command’s Senior Leader Conference March 21, at Vandenberg Air Force Base, California. ACSC’s Multi-Domain Operational Strategist Concentration (MDOS) was the group recognized for its innovation after winning the Chief of Staff of the Air Force Priority #2 category: Expand the joint & multi-domain warfighting abilities of assigned Airmen.
  • Maxwell celebrates 100 years of history

    Since it’s conception in 1918, Maxwell Air Force Base has played a pivotal role in airpower, providing the Air Force with innovation, education and leadership training. One hundred years have passed and the Maxwell community has grown to be a more integral part of the River Region. Members from around the base and local community gathered together in order to celebrate the occasion April 6-7.
