Lt. Col. Marcus Miller is the commander of the 42nd Contracting Squadron, Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama. In this role, he leads a squadron of 65 military and civilian Airmen supporting the 42nd Air Base Wing, Air University, the 908th Airlift Wing, and 45 mission partners. He serves as the lead business advisor to the installation’s senior leaders and interacts with private industry and various federal agencies. Lt. Col. Miller is responsible for executing over $1.1 billion annually for educational and technical training, base operating support, commodities, construction, and service contracts.
Lt. Col. Miller previously served as the chief of contracting, Special Operations Command Pacific, Camp H.M. Smith, Hawaii where he was responsible for procuring peculiar requirements, operational contract support, and advising on a $361 million portfolio for special operations in support of U.S. Indo-Pacific Command.
Throughout his career, Lt. Col. Miller has served in a variety of other acquisition roles, including deployments under the Defense Contract Management Agency in Iraq, the Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa in Djibouti, and U.S. Air Force Central Command in Kuwait.
