Technical Sergeant JOSHUA J. OROZCO

Tech. Sgt. Joshua Orozco is the Noncommissioned Officer in Charge of Air Terminal Functions and the Senior Enlisted Leader for the 42nd Logistics Readiness Squadron, Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama. He oversees air terminal functions and provides leadership to 41 military and civilian personnel.  Sergeant Orozco prepares, completes, and maintains air movement records, documents, and reports. He selects loads, prepares load plans, and computes aircraft center of balance. Sergeant Orozco offers customers information on flight schedules, routes, air movement requirements, baggage limitations, and specifics on local facilities. He performs procedures to check in, process, schedule, transport, and escort passengers to and from aircraft. Sergeant Orozco ensures all passenger border clearance requirements have been met. He operates terminal security equipment and conducts passenger and baggage security inspections. Sergeant Orozco reviews passenger travel authorizations for validity and accuracy.  As the squadron’s senior enlisted leader, he is involved in the professional development and growth of the squadron’s enlisted and officer corps.

Sergeant Orozco enlisted in the Air Force in December 2003. After completing Air Transportation technical training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, he was assigned to Dover Air Force Base, Delaware. There he served at the 436th Aerial Port Squadron as a ramp services specialist, cargo processor, Air Traffic Operations Center information Controller, Air Traffic Operations Center load planner, and Passenger Service Supervisor. In October 2014, Sergeant Orozco transferred to the Civil Air Patrol-United States Air Force headquartered at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama. He served as an Airlift Validator and noncommissioned officer in charge, Airlift Validation. In January 2019, he transferred across the base to the 42nd Logistics Readiness Squadron.
