Astronaut and retired USAF Col. Guion S. Bluford Jr. received the 2021 Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Distinguished Alumnus Award during a ceremony at Penn State on Oct. 6, 2021. Airman exercising on an obstacle course

A group of 42nd Mission Support Group Airmen were challenged to acquire and then demonstrate combat readiness skills during the Readiness Reset exercise April 3-6, 2023. Some of the exercises included mission command, creation of mission type operation orders, improvised explosive device and unexploded ordnance awareness, small unit tactics and Tactical Combat Casualty Care.
