Purpose: The purpose of the STARBASE Maxwell STEM Speaker Series is to provide 5th grade students from Montgomery, Elmore County, and Autauga County Public Schools with the opportunity to explore STEM career fields (science, technology, engineering, and math). Volunteers will educate students about their careers in the STEM field (how they became interested in their chosen career field, academic preparation, exciting elements of their career, etc.). We are looking for speakers who are either, military personnel and other personnel who have careers in STEM (science, math, engineering, and math).
Volunteers Requested: Three (3) speakers each day listed above, if possible 5
Duties: 30 minute presentation (20 minute presentation plus 10 minute Q&A session) to 5th grade students attending STARBASE Maxwell program. We want presenters to encourage our students to go into careers in STEM. Speakers will create their own presentations using PowerPoint or whatever medium they choose to use to present to the students. We’ve had speakers bring in actual equipment that they use for work (bomb sniffing dogs, flight gear, etc) or show videos of their work in action (designing a vehicle, building a game, etc.). We encourage speakers to be as interactive with the students as possible. PowerPoint presentations are not required but encouraged

Special Skills: Must work in STEM (science, technology, engineering, or math) career fields - military personnel or industry
Deadline to Sign Up: Minimum three (3) days prior to each scheduled date listed. We do not have a hard deadline because it is tough to find speakers so if someone agrees to serve as a speaker last minute (at least the morning of), we will accept them.

Clean Up (3 volunteers), 4:00 p.m-5:00 p.m. to pick up empty paint buckets, brushes, and floor covers
Plastic gloves and mask’s will be provided, as well as lunch and beverages to all Volunteers

Event: Receptionist Volunteers Needed

The No. 1 objective to puppy-raising/ dog socializing is LOVE and exposure to lots of things. We want your dog exposed to lots of people, places, noises, and new sights.
You will need to provide your puppy with safe chew toys and teach him what he can and can’t chew on.
You will need to housebreak your puppy.
You will teach him to walk on a leash, sit, lie down, and stay. Depending on how much progress you make, you may be teaching more advanced commands before you know it!
Special Skills: Must love dogs! Willing to dedicate daily training time to a dog.
Puppy-raisers need a family that has a parent who stays home much of each day.
Socializers (partially trained dogs) need to be able to take a dog everywhere that they go.

Aerobics instructor MUST have the following:
1. Group exercise instructors must have and maintain a primary instructor certification by an AF recognized organization. Instructors must obtain the additional necessary specialized training/certifications for step and kickboxing fitness classes
2. Group exercise instructors also maintain current First Aid and either the American Heart Association's Basic Life Support/Automated External Defibrillator (BLS/AED) or the Red Cross's Cardiopulmonary
Resuscitation/Automated External Defibrillator (CPR/AED) certification.
